“I have been using Tan Lines on and off for about 5 years and I have yet to have had a bad experience with the salon. I only use level one beds and yet still get a great tan. Steve and his staff have done nothing but provide great customer service and very happy place for me to get my tan. Thanks”

“I recently started tanning at Tan Lines. I have been pleased with the customer service and knowledge of tanning that I have received. I am shocked to be reading all of these negative reviews of this salon!! I have tanned at multiple other salons, including Palm Beach and Planet Tan. No, Tan Lines does not offer all of the useless perks that you get at other salons, but Steve always cleans the bed right before I tan and always stays on top of what bed and how many minutes I should be tanning. This is something I was really pleased about UNLIKE other salons who don't necessarily clean their beds and then ask you what you want to do each time as if you know whether the bulbs are new or old, and what will give your skin the best results, without looking fake. Also, other salons have such a large staff there is no way each customer can get the individualized attention as you do at Tan Lines. I am all for supporting a local business instead of the big companies who couldn't give a rats ass if you burned to a crisp in their salon!”

“I've had a membership at tan lines for a couple years now. I was looking up the phone number to see their sunday store hours and came across these reviews. I don't know if a competitor wrote these reviews or what cuz I've always had a good experience when I come in.
Steve and Charity (i think that's her name) are both really friendly, chill people. Plus the price is really good from what I've found and I'm all for helping out the little guy”

“I am the owner of Tan Lines, Steve Platt. I AM usually the guy at the front. I'm not sure why Dean says I pretend I own the place, I do. And we have never had a tanner with the first name dean, we have one with the last name dean, but she still comes in and seems happy with our service. Obviously, we don't always have new lamps, but we closely monitor their life and change them out at 80% of max life. And we DO use the best Wolff lamps available, which don't last as long as the economy lamps used in chains, but they get you better color, which is why we have them.. And we pay our bills, I don't even know WHERE that came from, in fact, we just expanded to a bigger location at Parker and Custer... Instead of picking apart each detail of each bad review, let me just say that myself and my staff take pride in what we do and love the tanning industry and everyone in it. We clean each bed and wipe down the chairs and door handles with sanitizer after each use. We use different towels to clean with than the ones the customers use (Which to me is common sense, but not any places I know of do it), and we know our beds and lamps well enough to make an informed and professional recommendation to each person we tan. Yes, we sell lotion and packages, No, we don't try to sell people things they don't need and are not pushy AT ALL (I hate pushy sales people). We have many loyal clients who love us. Unfortunately, people tend to write reviews more when they're unhappy. And as for Maggie, we had a maggie tanning around the time of that review. We gave her a 2 free week pass in 08 and then she came back in 2010 she bought a $20 upgrade package, tanned 5 times, and has $14.75 left on it. I think that's more than fair. If anyone has a complaint, please talk to me, Steve Platt, directly so that I may have the chance to make it right. I love the business, I love my customers, and I love Plano..”

    What a Joke!

“There is a reason that almost all of the reviews on this page are negative. This place is a rip off. The guy in the front pretends like he owns the place, but he does not. Basically, you are lied to from the moment you walk in the front door. They say they have New Bulbs - they can hardly pay the bills - putting in new bulbs is a joke.”

    Rip Off

“Deceptive marketing strategy: unlimited tanning for $20/month, but that is for only one level of bed. For all other tanning levels, there are additional fees. Rooms are tiny, beds are old (though they claim the bulbs are new), Stereos don't work on any of the beds. Staff are indifferent. For a stand alone business you would think that they would try to please their customers but they make most of their money from the 'no shows'. RIP OFF. Find somewhere else, this isn't worth your time and money.”

“This was the worst tanning experience I have ever had in my life. The beds were dirty, and the owner was rude. They tried to pressure me into buying additional stuff that I did not want to buy. There are many tanning places that can have my business, but this is not one of them. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.”

“The place is a dump!! Dirty, sweaty beds in need of cleaning. Rude, incompetent owners who rip people off. Their best beds are worse than competitors worst beds. Do the research and you'll see.
All in all...I'd rather eat from a dumpster than go back to that hole again.

    On a scale of 1 to 10...I'd give them a minus 200 !!”

“I agree with Hope and Wendizzle; the customer service was a fascade. They reel you in and take your money. Then after you've spent it all, they withhold information and act very rude if you buy your lotion cheaper from someplace else.”

“I went for the first time and they were SO NICE!!! But then when i got home i called them because i had a question about the different lotions and they were SO RUDE. It was like totally different personalities. The nice act is just to get you to buy their membership, and then once you do the customer service goes out the window. I want my $60 back”

“This was the worst tanning salon I have ever been to. I tan very often and have never had a problem with customer service until I visited this salon. I do not recommend this salon to ANYONE. The horrible customer service and the gimics really made me appalled by the way this store was run.”
